- Tasume
Convertible cover for the Barnes & Noble Nook Tasume’s inspiration was found in the elegance and simplicity of origami. This cover for the Barnes & Noble NOOK is able to support both portrait and landscape table-top viewing.
The geometric pattern embossed on the polyurethane wings is integral to the case’s aesthetics as well as to its functionality. The user folds these wings back and into a pyramid, which naturally snaps into place with Tasume’s hidden magnets. The case can then be rested on any one of its four walls, allowing the NOOK to be viewed in the most ergonomic position possible.
Taume’s elegant functionality was recently recognized by C|net, naming it the “best NOOK cover on the market”.

Stella
Stella light was an exercise in solving all the myriad shortcomings of available reading lights: weak or unadjustable neck, distracting reflections, undesirable color of light, and lack of secure connection to devices and books.
Stella provides a thoroughly considered experience. The patented flexible arm contains two goosenecks embedded within a silicone sleeve, allowing the arm to remain razor thin while still retaining any desired position. Stella’s warm LED light is diffused to prevent hot spots, and minimize fatigue to the eye.
Finally, the custom contour padded clip allows the light to securely clip to any available e-reader device, not to mention old fashioned books. 2012 Engineering, Industrial Design, Product Design -
Nook Tablet Color Study
Looking to bolster the appeal of their new high end device through color and material refinement, Barnes
and noble requested a thorough exploration of finish treatments for NOOK Color. The goal for the Tablet’s
CMF was to give the product a decidedly higher end visual appeal than that of its little brother, the NOOK
Color, while retaining the family resemblance.
Extensive research was conducted into competitive products, color, material, and finish trends, as well as
into the preferences of the target demographic for the Tablet.
The chosen CMF direction was felt to evoke feelings of warmth, comfort, and elegance. 2012 Industrial Design, Product Design -

NYC Bike Rack
The P1 offers a combination of safety, security, economy and versatility.
Allowing up to three bikes to be stored at one time, the P1 presents a variety of usage scenarios. The inner selection offers the maximum security and increased stability, while the two outer spaces improve accessibility and availability for users on-the-go. In addition, the P1 accommodates all types of bikes – from full size to folding.
Users are presented with multiple locking points at raised levels to prevent locks from being struck apart. What’s more, P1 prevents the dreaded bicycle “slip-fall,” which can lead to bikes being crushed beneath parking cars.
From the perspective of mounting the racks in sidewalks, the P1 can be safely fastened to the ground with either an integrated mount for additional security or a bolt mount for easy installation. 2012 Industrial Design, Product Design -
SF Lamp Series
The SF (Spin & Fold) Lamp Series, an ICFF Studio award winning collection,
is both an homage to the art of hand spinning metal, and an exploration of the boundaries of the craft.
Unlike most spun metal objects, SF lamps are not quite radially symmetrical. After the lampshade is spun, a cutting
tool is used to punch a “key hole” in it. The shade is then folded, and secured into its new form.
The result is a lampshade that shifts from typically symmetrical to subtly organic, depending on the vantage point. 2012 Furniture Design, Industrial Design, Product Design -
Bento
Bento’s purpose is to promote healthier eating in people with on-the-go lifestyles. Bento is a steamer that, in ones step, cooks a complete meal that is both nutritious and portable.
Bento heats up the assembly’s base using inductive technology, creating steam from water added to the grains in the bottom container. The steam naturally rises up the assembly, simultaneously cooking the grains as well
as the contents of the top two containers. Thus the cooking process is simplified, and the user has a ready-packed meal that will still be warm when lunchtime comes around.
Bento’s double-walled containers insulate the outside walls while keeping its contents warm throughout the day. An elastomer band does double duty, securing the closure of the container and functioning as a carry handle. 2012 Industrial Design, Product Design -
Bamboo Utensils
This collection was designed for the Martha Stewart Everyday line of utensils. Characterized by rounded geometric shapes, this line of products is intended as a counterpoint to the organic oblong forms of the tools in the higher end Collection line of products. The Everyday utensils are not only lighthearted and approachable, but ecologically considerate; each one made from a single piece of bamboo, with a natural oil finish.

The delicate platinum leafing is designed for maximum impact with minimum use of precious metal.
Honeycomb's fluctuating hexagon pattern, inspired by natural variations in honey-bee built structures, nods to the natural world, despite its geometric design.
Nova's dots are inspired by the stars of the Milky Way; they bring a touch of whimsy to this minimal pattern. 2012 Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Product Design -
